Book, pick up and return your bike

1. Book your bike

1. 1Go to staybybike.com and choose your hotel.
2. 2Pick the day (up to 14 days ahead) and how many bikes you want.
3. 3Fill in your details: name, phone, email and a photo of your passport or ID.
4. 4If you want to be able to cancel for free anytime, tick the Cancellation insurance (+€6).
5. 5Pay: the rental is charged and the deposit is held (a guarantee returned to you when you hand the bike back correctly).

💡 You will get an email with your booking code, a “View my booking” link and the PIN for each bike. Keep it: the PIN is your key.

2. Pick up the bike at the hotel

The bikes are at your hotel reception. With the app:

1. 1Download the “Staybybike Marbella” app (links are in your email).
2. 2Open it and scan the bike’s QR.
3. 3Type your PIN.
4. 4The bike opens. Enjoy the ride!

💡 For a City Bike, keep the phone next to the bike with Bluetooth on. An Electric City Bike can also be opened from “View my booking”, without the app. No booking? Scan a free bike’s QR and pay on the spot: it opens by itself.

3. During the day

• You can lock and unlock the bike with your PIN as many times as you like (e.g. when you stop for lunch). The rental only ends when you return it.
• If you have an Electric City Bike, you can see it on the map from “View my booking”.

4. Return the bike

1. 1Return it before the day’s deadline.
2. 2Bring it to the hotel zone (the area around the hotel).
3. 3In the app (or in “View my booking”) tap “Return”.
4. 4The system checks by GPS that you are in the hotel zone.
5. 5Take a photo of the parked bike.
6. 6The bike locks. Done! Your deposit is released after the review.

💡 If it says you are outside the zone, bring the bike closer to the hotel. If the bike is moving, stop first (for safety it won’t lock while moving).

5. Cancellations, late fees and deposit

• Cancel 15 days or more ahead: free (full refund).
• Cancel less than 15 days ahead: 100 % is retained.
• With the Cancellation insurance: cancel for free anytime.
• Late: if you return after the deadline, a fee is charged for each hour.
• 24 hours without returning: the bike is considered stolen and the full deposit is withheld.
• All good: your full deposit is returned.

Frequently asked questions

• Do I need the app? For City Bikes yes. Electric City Bikes also from “View my booking”.
• I lost the PIN: it’s in your email and in “View my booking”.
• It won’t let me return: be in the hotel zone and turn on GPS and Bluetooth.
• When do I get the deposit back? After the review; your bank may take a few days.
